Showing support for Blades community visit day
We joined forces with Sheffield United players and staff to help spread festive cheer during the Club’s annual Christmas community visit day.
Winchester Car Sales director Tajinder Singh joined Blades players Florent Cuvelier, Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Ryan Flynn, Stephen McGinn, Chris O’Grady, George Long, Iain Turner, Stefan Scougall, Chris Porter, George Willis and Harrison McGahey on their visit to Hallam FM to donate gifts for the radio station’s ‘Mission Christmas’ event, an initiative which aims to brighten Christmas for disadvantaged children with the donation of gifts from the public.
Also on hand was striker Marc McNulty, who scored the winner which saw the Blades defeat Southampton and progress to the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup just hours before.
Blades supporters had donated in excess of 500 gifts before the Southampton game and these were handed over along with Blades merchandise, before the players helped out in the charity’s warehouse.
Tajinder Singh and Harminder Bains, fellow director of Winchester Car Sales, had helped the cause by providing funding and support for the players to visit the organisations and deliver gifts, as well as donating a van which was used to transport gifts on the day.
Tajinder said: “It was wonderful to be involved with Sheffield United’s community visit day and I am delighted to have helped give something back.
“Some of the personal stories we have heard today are very touching and they put things into perspective in a massive way.
“I hope the gifts go some way to bringing a smile to recipient’s faces this Christmas and we’re delighted to support such a wonderful cause.”
